Our Impact

Here’s a taste of how we’ve helped you, and how you’ve helped us.

“The family hub has supported us with transitions between nursery and primary school and making sure everyone is supporting my son. Additionally to this, the family hub has supported with my daughter with safety around online use and health conversations and relationships keeping her safe with using her phone, explore emotional support services, morning routine with getting ready for school.”

I have gained confidence within myself as a new mum, as a partner to my other half, as a friend and as an individual. My daughter has been able to socialise, play with new toys and experience new sensory filled activities. I have been able to make new friends (after moving) and I now have a support network.”

“The course has made a massive difference to my approach to parenting which has made me understand my children so much better. I am able to remain calmer in challenging situations and I have noticed a real change in my daughter’s behaviour. Thank you for such a good course in a safe and supportive environment.”

You said, we did

At Spurgeons, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to live a happy and hope-filled life, and that no child should face abuse, neglect or uncertainty. As a charity we have been in existence for over 150 years now, and in Wiltshire we have been delivering services for more than a decade, becoming part of the very community that we serve.

As a team we are here to make sure that every child has the best start in life, sometimes by providing services ourselves and sometimes by helping families to access our wonderful partners and the many excellent other services in Wiltshire.

We can only do this because of the funding we receive from Wiltshire Council and, quite rightly, we are responsible for providing evidence of the impact that we are making. This page contains just a taste of what we have achieved and what families have to say about our services.

“[Our family hub practitioner] has been amazing to work with.  She is such a wonderful, caring lady who really listened to me and understood my situation. She was always full of praise and gave suggestions that helped and encouraged me.”

“Empowered to know how to access help. Being signposted to the place where I could get school uniform, help with filling forms.  I am able to recognise what healthy relationships look like, and prioritise mine and my children’s needs.”

“I have been able to share the course content with my husband and we have therefore had a more united front in our parenting.  Together we have learned some new techniques for managing challenging behaviour.”
